1. (i) The elements that comprise the communication process are interdependent.
Discuss with examples. [15 Marks]

(ii) Trace the development of IT, giving reasons for the disparity of advancement
among the various communities. [15 Marks]

2. Account for the need of pretesting instructional materials. [20 Marks]

3. Explain how you may use the ‘A’ advocacy structure in designing an extension
campaign (IEC) in an area of community development of your choice.
[20 Marks]

4. Are you persuaded that the African silicon savanna (Konza city) will benefit the digitally disenfranchised community of Kenya in particular and Africa in general? [20 Marks]

5. (i) Discuss four advantages of the fibre optic communication. [20 Marks]

(ii) In views of the advantages of fibre optic communications (above) why are Kenyans resisting the migration to Digital terrestrial Television? [20 Marks]

Either:
6. (a) Design a campaign for popularising the voluntary health circumcision in areas of
Kenya where circumcision isn’t a cultural practice. [20 Marks]

Or:
(b) Create a radio script to persuade two adversarial communities to make peace. The
programme should last 5 minutes. [20 Marks]
