QUESTION ONE (30 MARKS)
(a) You have been approached by a renown Skeptic and critic of the Bible, purporting that
the New Testament is totally unreliable because it is not inspired. From your study of the
New Testament.
(i) Carefully explain to him the reasons that led to the recognition of the New Testament
canon. (3 Marks)
(ii) Explain the tests that were applied to ensure that the New Testament deserved the
right for being included in the Canon. (12 Marks)
(b) What practical lessons can you draw from the content of each of the historical books and the
travel and prison epistles of Paul. (15 Marks)

QUESTION TWO (20 MARKS)
(a) With specific examples, explain how each of the following authors developed the themes of
their books.
(i) John in the Gospel of John (10 Marks)
(ii) Luke in the book of Acts (10 Marks)

QUESTION THREE (20 MARKS)
(a) I Corinthians was written as a pastoral corrective to the many disorders and problems at Corinth.
Explain the nature of the problems and the solution that Paul gave to each. (8 Marks)
(b) Explain the nature of false teachers that both Paul and the General Epistles writers addressed in
their epistles. (12 Marks)

QUESTION FOUR (20 MARKS)
(a) Explain how the early background of the apostle Paul prepared him to be able to face the
challenges of his time without wavering or giving up. (8 Marks)
(b) Why were each of the general epistles written. (6 Marks)
(c) Explain any six principle lessons that you can draw from each of the general epistles for your
life and career. (6 Marks)
