SECTION A:

1. (i) Discuss the various functions of primary auxiliary verbs. [14 marks]

(ii) Distinguish between finite and non-finite verbs giving proper examples.

(iii) Giving meaningful sentences show the uses of the following modal
Auxiliaries: [5 marks]

(iv) Indicate what you understand by the term intensifier adverbs. Show their use in three different sentences. [5 marks]

3. Support the following statement with proper illustrations:
