a) Rukia bought a radio from Sauti Enterprises at a hire purchase price of Kshs. 87,000.After
paying most of the installments as agreed, Rukia wants to pay the entire balance of the
remaining installments at once. Advice her on her legal position and rights if any with regard to
request for information and completion of the hire purchase. (6 Marks)

b) Lilly bought a lap-top from Santa Traders by an agreement in which Lilly was allowed to take
the machine into his possession and pay for it in instalments. Lilly has now defaulted in paying
three last instalments. Santa Traders have, after some investigation, been informed that Lilly is
only seventeen years old, a fact which had been overlooked by Santa Traders at the time of the
sale. Advice Santa traders accordingly (10 Marks)
