a) A management information system (MIS) is the principal and formal system that integrates data
from various sources and provides information to systems in any organization.
i. Identify and describe four types of MIS reports (8 Marks)
ii. Critically examine four factors which could influence the design of successful MIS
in an organization. (8 Marks)
b) Management Information systems should facilitate decision making at all levels of management.
Each level requires information with different characteristics and with differing degree of
probability. Examine the characteristics of information used in; (i) strategic planning and
(ii) operational control. (6 Marks)
c) Why is active participation of senior management in design of information systems important
(8 Marks)
