1. (a) What is the function of the Uniform Resource Locator (URL)? [4 Marks]

(b) The URL consists of FOUR parts. Name each part and explain how it works during communication through the Internet. Use examples to clarify your answer. [16 Marks]

2. Explain, with examples, the THREE important reasons why a user would choose to use a TELNET programme over other programs that offer a similar service. [15 Marks]

3. Discuss in detail the many advantages of using electronic mail (E-MAIL) over the old fashioned ways of contacting people? [15 Marks]
