(a) What statistical test would be appropriate to test the hypothesis “The yield of

Q4. The use of most statistical tests such as ANOVA, t-test etc for counts is based on three
main assumptions. Discuss these assumptions as they relate to data that follow Poisson,
Positive and Negative binomial distributions. [20 marks]
Q5. (a) A simple linear relationship between two variables x and y were found to
have the estimated linear regression equation of y = 0.74 + 0.34x. If n = 16,

simultaneously? [2 marks]
(ii) What is the probability that 3 individuals picked at random will be black?
[2 marks]
(iii) What is the probability that none of the 3 would be black or have disease?
[2 marks]
(iv) What is the probability that a goat will have either the disease or black
colour? [2 marks]
(v) If 2 individuals are sampled, what is the probability that at least one of
the two will be black and has the disease? [2 marks]
