b) Critically discuss the appropriateness of SWOT analysis as a tool of strategic analysis and choice. (10 marks)
c) Distinguish between vision, mission, core values and strategic ojectives of an organization. (10 marks)

a) Raptec plastics has a highly formalized and centralized structure. Raptec is facing intense competition as new entrants are entering the plastics business and are competing both on price and distinctiveness of products. Raptec is therefore considering either low cost strategy or a differentiation strategy. Explain how a highly formalized and centralized structure may affect Raptec’s ability to use either of the two strategies. (10 marks)
b) Citing examples where appropriate, discuss how the external environment influences the operations of an organization. (10 marks)
